On the afternoon of June 10, 2025<\/strong>, the China\u2013Thailand University Leaders Forum<\/strong> was held at the Shangri-La Hotel, Bangkok<\/strong>, bringing together presidents, vice presidents, and senior administrators from leading universities across China and Thailand. Under the theme \u201cTechnological Innovation and Cultural Exchange,\u201d<\/strong> the forum spotlighted the dual drivers of education reform and mutual understanding in the 21st century.<\/p>\n

The opening ceremony, moderated by Jiang Guohua<\/strong>, Vice Chair of the University Council at Peking University<\/strong>, featured keynote remarks from Yang Dan<\/strong>, Director-General of the Department of International Cooperation and Exchanges at China\u2019s Ministry of Education. He affirmed the Ministry\u2019s commitment to strengthening educational ties between the two nations and supporting globally competent talent development.<\/p>\n

Prof. Wilert Puriwat<\/strong>, President of Chulalongkorn University<\/strong>, underscored the importance of combining innovation with intercultural connection, calling the forum \u201can important step toward synergistic growth in higher education.\u201d Dr. Wilert noted in his speech that technological innovation and cultural exchange are powerful drivers of social progress. He expressed hope that this forum would further promote synergistic development in higher education between the two countries. The speeches laid a solid foundation for the subsequent discussions and reflected a shared determination to pursue cooperation and mutual development.<\/p>\n

Roundtable I: Reshaping Education Through Technological Innovation<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The first session tackled the rapid integration of AI, big data<\/strong>, and smart learning platforms into academic settings with the theme “Reshaping Education Through Scientific and Technological Innovation<\/strong>“. Seven university leaders from China and Thailand shared valuable insights on the integration of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and big data into the education sector. The speakers included:<\/p>\n

Roundtable II: Promoting Civilizational Dialogue Through People-to-People Exchanges<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The second roundtable highlighted the role of cultural programs, exchange initiatives, and international classrooms in fostering global citizenship and peaceful dialogue, titled \u201cPromoting Civilizational Dialogue Through People-to-People Exchanges<\/strong>\u201d featured nine university leaders who shared perspectives on the vital role of cultural interaction in fostering dialogue among civilizations. \nDr. Kitikorn Dowpiset<\/strong> of A<\/strong>U<\/strong> delivered a standout presentation on the HEHE framework<\/strong>, which promotes harmony, empathy, and integration in education. He emphasized its role in preparing students for a connected and peaceful world. During this session, Dr. Kitikorn delivered an in-depth speech on the vital role of cultural exchange in promoting civilizational dialogue.<\/p>\n

He highlighted the university\u2019s innovative application of the HEHE cultural framework, which centers on harmony and integration, and described how it is being implemented in education. This concept not only offers a new theoretical perspective for China\u2013Thailand educational collaboration but also contributes a valuable intellectual approach from the higher education sector to the broader goal of building a shared future for humanity.<\/p>\n
