Bro. Sirichai Fonseka<\/strong>, f.s.g., Ph.D., President of AU, the AU delegation visited Tsinghua\u2019s prestigious Academy of Arts &amp; Design on the morning of <strong>May 19, 2025<\/strong>. This high-level visit signals a strategic deepening of academic and artistic cooperation between the two institutions, especially in the fields of digital art, design innovation, and cultural entrepreneurship.<\/p>\n<h3>High-Level Meeting: Designing the Future of Creative Education<\/h3>\n<p>Held in the VIP Reception Room at Tsinghua University\u2019s Academy of Arts &amp; Design, the meeting featured robust discussions on interdisciplinary curriculum design, faculty and student exchanges, and the mutual potential to shape the creative economy in the region.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Professor Ma Sai<\/strong>, Dean of the Academy, warmly welcomed the AU delegation and introduced the Academy\u2019s leadership in art and design education, especially in areas such as <strong>information art and technology<\/strong> and <strong>global academic outreach<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTsinghua\u2019s Academy of Arts &amp; Design is committed to interdisciplinary integration and international development,\u201d said Dean Ma. \u201cWe look forward to resource-sharing and joint innovation with AU in areas of academic research, talent cultivation, and cultural creativity.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Rev. Bro. Sirichai<\/strong> highlighted AU\u2019s strengths in <strong>creative industries, business technology management<\/strong>, and <strong>international education<\/strong>, emphasizing the synergy between both institutions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur institutions are highly complementary,\u201d he stated. \u201cWe are aligned in our vision to co-develop programs, exchange knowledge, and nurture Southeast Asian talent in digital art and design.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>Four Focus Areas: A Strategic Framework for Partnership<\/h3>\n<p>Both sides reached consensus on four key areas of cooperation, creating a framework to advance their shared mission:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Joint Programs and Dual-Degree Initiatives<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Co-developing interdisciplinary courses such as <em>Digital Art &amp; Design<\/em> and <em>Cultural &amp; Creative Management<\/em>.<\/li>\n<li>Launching <strong>dual-degree pathways<\/strong> and <strong>summer workshops<\/strong> hosted at Tsinghua, with scholarship opportunities for AU\u2019s top art students.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Joint Research &amp; Innovation Platforms<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Creating a <em>Smart Art &amp; Design Laboratory<\/em>, integrating AI and design innovation with the support of AU\u2019s <strong>Vincent Mary School of Engineering<\/strong>, Science and Technology.<\/li>\n<li>Collaborating on digital cultural heritage preservation and sustainable design projects with potential support from Thai and Chinese government research funds.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Faculty-Student Exchanges &amp; Academic Activities<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Establishing a <em>China-Thailand Arts Exchange Fund<\/em> to support faculty visits, artist residencies, and student mobility.<\/li>\n<li>Co-hosting the <strong>Asian Youth Art Biennale 2026<\/strong>, a regional cultural platform uniting youth and professionals across Asia.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Industry-Academia Collaboration &amp; Creative Business Incubation<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Partnering with AU\u2019s <strong>Graduate School of Business &amp; Advanced Technology Management<\/strong> to bridge design education with Thailand\u2019s booming <strong>cultural tourism<\/strong> and creative sectors.<\/li>\n<li>Exploring the creation of a <em>China-Thailand Creative Industry Incubation Center<\/em> in Bangkok to support young entrepreneurs in arts and innovation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>From Concept to Creation: Touring Tsinghua\u2019s Design Labs<\/h3>\n<p>The AU delegation, guided by <strong>Associate Professor Fu Zhiyong<\/strong>, toured Tsinghua\u2019s cutting-edge <strong>Information Art &amp; Design Laboratory<\/strong> and <strong>Digital Media Innovation Center<\/strong>. The showcase included demonstrations in <strong>VR art<\/strong>, <strong>interactive installations<\/strong>, and <strong>immersive media<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Asst. Prof. Dr. Narong Aphiratsakun<\/strong>, Dean of AU\u2019s Vincent Mary School of Engineering, Science and Technology expressed admiration for Tsinghua\u2019s artistic tech applications, proposing future collaborations to explore real-world implementation in Thailand\u2019s creative economy.<\/p>\n<h3>Looking Ahead: A Shared Vision for Asia\u2019s Creative Future<\/h3>\n<p>To ensure progress, both universities will form a <strong>joint task force<\/strong> to coordinate upcoming projects and academic exchanges.
